I provide one-on-one counselling for everyday people from all walks of life.
Often we can get caught up in our own experiences, personal challenges, or events that can be overwhelming, uncomfortable and painful. Through talking and the practice of new ideas that are firmly grounded by research, I can help you to become 'unstuck' from these difficulties. That way you can engage in your life in a more meaningful, enjoyable and satisfying way.

Psycho-education sessions
When dealing with mental health, there are three important aspects to consider: getting people to talk about it, helping people to understand what 'it' actually is, then slipping into your white lab coat and using appropriate interventions to conduct an experiment on your life (seeing if it actually makes a real difference).
There are plenty of wonderful initiatives out there (such as Livin') that encourage an open dialogue about mental health. From there, it is really important to build your own awareness of what words such as depression and anxiety actually refer to. The biochemical changes that occur in your body and brain. The behaviours and symptoms that are common.
From a better understanding comes hope, direction, awareness and even the sense that you are not alone. The connection you can feel when you realise other people feel the same way.
That is where these information sessions fit in. They provide a friendly, engaging and open environment where people can learn about mental health and use that knowledge to help themselves or other people they care about.

Amazing things can be achieved through well thought-out, energetic, relevant and engaging workshops. Over the years I have had the opportunity to deliver group sessions on many varied topics, including optimising performance in competitive sport, overcoming stress and burnout in the workplace, psycho-education seminars on depression and managing addictions.
